Thoracic mobilization

As we head into November—a time to slow down, give thanks, and prepare for the holidays—it’s the perfect opportunity to focus on taking care of your body. Whether you’re managing chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or just trying to stay active, chiropractic care can help you move and feel your best.

The Research Behind Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care is widely recognized as a safe and effective, non-drug approach for managing musculoskeletal problems—especially low back and neck pain.

A major clinical trial published in JAMA Network Open found that U.S. service members with low back pain experienced greater pain relief, improved mobility, and reduced disability when chiropractic care was added to their usual medical care—without any increase in adverse events. Participants also reported higher satisfaction and less reliance on pain medications compared to those receiving standard care alone (Goertz et al., 2018).

These findings highlight chiropractic care as a safe, effective, and evidence-based option for improving musculoskeletal function and overall well-being.

Chiropractic Care for Prevention and Wellness

While chiropractic care is well known for treating pain, it also plays an important role in maintenance and preventive wellness.

Research shows that most chiropractors encourage regular care to help prevent recurrences of back or neck issues, support posture, and promote mobility. Chiropractors often provide additional guidance on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle to support long-term health (Rupert, 2000); (Hawk et al., 2004); (Hawk et al., 2012).

Many patients report that ongoing chiropractic care helps them feel more balanced, energized, and resilient—even when they’re not in pain (Adams et al., 2017); (French et al., 2013).

Although the evidence for chiropractic as a preventive treatment remains mixed (Ernst, 2009), its benefits for reducing recurrence, improving movement, and enhancing daily performance are well established.
